What Members Thought
An impactful story that will stay with me for a while. The omniscient narrator seems to weave in and out of the halls of the house, hovering over the heads of characters, conveying to us their whispers and secret thoughts. I loved the style. I also loved the story, which is very loosely based around a real event. Decent characters. I was surprised to find Gen as the main character, as he's not mentioned on the cover. I feel that the ending was left a little too open. What happened to the other survivors? How were they able, or not, to return to their lives? I also wonder why the author chose to take the book in such a low key direction. It could have been a very fast paced book, but it was a character study instead.
