I read this book towards the end of 2003. I do remember liking it, and now that I look back, I still think it is a lot better than Colbert's book, which I reviewed here as well.

This book makes me weep. Large, flowing tears.
I love The Daily Show; I love snark; I love Jon Stewart; I loved I Am America (And So Can You!) . So why don't I love this book?!?! I think the snarkiness and joking is just too overwhelming... I just couldn't get (and stay) into it. It became more of an exercise to finish it. Sad. ...more

It's too bad that there is some not-school-appropriate language in this book. Otherwise it would be great for the US History classes I teach. Except my high school students wouldn't get most of the jokes. Well, maybe the smart ones would.
