DNF. Not my cup of tea.
The author goes to Senegal. Great. He has a sort of epiphany that there are good people and bad people everywhere. Wow. Then the punchline of the piece is that he's at some event and a (beautiful) young woman is just staring at him in awe and it turns out she's a grad student writing her thesis about his books. What kind of bad movie is this?
I'm sorry but I just read an article recently about the Baldwin/Buckley debate and I couldn't help thinking how this is not Baldwin. ...more
