Fascinating book. Can't say I espouse the central philosophy, but it was flawlessly written, and really brings up excellent discussions and further ponderings. Seems to have been written as a knee-jerk reaction to socialism and its weaknesses. Interesting take on human nature. Highly recommended, but not for the accuracy of its ideas, merely for the mental stimulation of reading it, and for the excellent quality of writing.

I almost liked Atlas Shrugged. If nothing else it framed certain beliefs and helped to understand parts of people I don't always get along with. Reading more about Ayn Rand and where and how she grew up helped me to understand why she believed what she did... ...more
