I LOVE this book except for one thing...I don't think it really fulfills the thesis. If Chomsky had called it "The book with everything you need to know about America post-9/11" then it would be perfect. I understand that we are looking at a hegemony case study, but he doesn't tie it back to his introductory point cleanly enough for me to feel satisfied. I wanted a deep excavation of how America's (or any country's) hegemaniacal (wordplay my own) runs directly counter to its own bid for survival ...more
