Meant to be a commentary on life at a major university (seems to be Duke). The characters are a bit unrealistic: caricatures of those that have probably mistreated Mr. Wolfe. But the writing is smooth, and the characters, though unrealistic, are interesting. Charlotte is a country bumpkin who is blown away by the liberal lifestyles of college students.
