I really can't say enough good things about this work. Not only is the topic extraordinarily fascinating, but Nordberg is an excellent writer. It is rare to find a nonfiction book where the writing is so profoundly good that it does not at all interfere with the narrative, yet when you pay attention to it, it is rich and beautiful.
