Oh, Wow! What a fantastic listen. Perfect narration. I was so wrapped into this book I wished that either I had more places to drive or that I had the physical book so I could keep going in it. The version that I listened to was not narrated by the author, but did include a Q&A with John Green at the end. I will reread this, but with the pages in front of my eyes next time.

Ok, I realize that (most) teenagers are not this clever and/or witty, and that there was probably some emotional manipulation going on, but I don't care. I love this book. I do think that while I would most definitely recommend it to a young adult reader, that the true richness of the story might only come thru to a parent or to a person with more life experience than a typical kid - which is ok! Very highly recommended.

I bought this book because it had good reviews and sometimes I just want to read a guaranteed "good" book. That happens after I read several crap books in a row.
This book did not disappoint. It is so witty and beautiful. It's YA lit, but it is so rich and layered. I found myself staying up way too late to keep reading it. It was that good.

This is such a emotionally-intense book! I must admit that when I picked it up I had no idea what I will be reading. All I knew was that it'd received a good rating. After a few chapters I realized that this may not be a literacy great kind of book, plus the plot is a little... cheesy. You know, boy meets girl, girl meets boy, they have crushes on each other; your typical adolescent, puppy love. But it got a twist: everyone got cancer. I told one of my workers about this book, and he said it sou

It is hard to review a book you have already heard so much about, and I'm afraid my experience may have been shaded by hearing people wax eloquent about the brilliance of this novel.
It's not that I disagree with them entirely. The main character has a delightful voice, and the way she processes her disease is somehow lively and amusing as well as heart-wrenching.
The plot, however, offers nothing new. It is a basic terminal illness love story, which we have seen before. The writing is beautiful, ...more

Wonderful book. What more can be said about it that hasn't been said already?
