I can’t say this was my favorite book by any means, but I’m so glad I read it. What proof that reading can take you into world’s (and viewpoints) so different from your own, and help us to understand others just a bit better by reading their words! I feel so sad for Hemingway after reading this. To think that the happiest time of one’s life is so far behind them, and those that were part of it gone… some of your own doing. ...more

After reading The Paris Wife, I was very excited to re-read this book. I enjoyed it in college, but really loved it the second time around. Touching and endearing, it's a great collection of small stories that depict Hemingway's life as an ex-pat in Paris after WWI.
