This was in the book room at the school, and I'm ashamed to say that I'd never read it before.
I enjoy Hemingway. The sparse yet powerful prose really speaks to me. I appreciate Hemingway's skill at making suggestions as to his characters but not pushing it on the reader. I just love the subtlty.
I think that I will teach this novella to my Pre-AP students this year. I'll be reading other Hemingway books. ...more

It's intimidating writing a review for a book for which there are books written as reviews. Simply, I loved escaping to the sea with my old man. What a beautiful tale that took me there in the little boat, watching the flying fish, wondering why the hell the old man didn't cut the rope and move on.
