Like zombie-ish guys eating your body parts creepier. Except they aren't dead so they aren't really zombies, but you get the point. But I loved the Maze Runner, I was so enthralled. I must admit this book kept me hooked, I think James Dashner writes just for me because I zoom through all his books whether I like them in the end or not. What I didn't like about this one was that book one left you on a cliff han Ok so this one wasn't as good to me as the first. This one was, however, way creepier. I must admit this book kept me hooked, I think James Dashner writes just for me because I zoom through all his books whether I like them in the end or not. What I didn't like about this one was that book one left you on a cliff hanger, but I had so many questions I had to go to the next for the answers. This book didn't have any answers. I didn't have any more insight at all to WICKED or the end game. I only ended up asking more and more questions. Not just the big questions either. Did anyone else wonder how the girls got through the tunnels without the metal ball things chopping off their heads? They all made it? And where did they get their weapons when they were underground the whole time? And they didn't meet any Cranks?? The whole we were underground so you didn't see us wasn't enough for me. It almost could've been an in-between book in my pov because while I get they were necessary "trials" or whatever they just betray him and he's back where's he started at the beginning of the maze runner. I'm all for a challenge but now it's getting kind of ridiculous. When does it ever end?I'm sad about losing Chuck, he was one of my favorite characters, but there was still Minho who was always a close second. But we lose him for a lot of the book. We are stuck with Thomas. And I get Thomas is the serious guy but he is with Teresa or Brenda the whole time and IMO the romance part of the book sucked. Dasher is definitely one of my fav authors but he definitely does better with action/thrill/suspense/adventure than romance. But it didn't change my rating too much because honestly, who read this book for the romance anyway? But I will definitely read the Death Cure because it is the last so it HAS to have answers right?!?! I hope ...more

I liked this one better than the first, less graphic death, and less death of those we know. However, it is still infuriating that we don't know anything, and I am pretty sure this was planned. I will really define the whole series based on the last book and the ending and so on. Less of the ridiculous "slang" words the author made up. We will see what is to become of good ole Thomas. ...more

I liked this less than "the Maze Runner" as I understand even less about why youth are being subjected to these trials or how this saves the world. I might have to read the next one with hope of resolution. ...more
