This series has been so interesting and unique. I have loved the world-building, the characters, and the struggles for peace and love. There was so much going on and so many pieces in play. I loved many of the twists and how much of it all turned out. I also loved all the characters. There was such an impossible task ahead of them and I felt that this was a fabulous end to the series. It explained much and nothing was easy. No nice little bows to tie off this series.

Such an amazing finale to an amazing series! There were barely any low points in this series to me. Despite the long length of the final book, and multitude of new characters brought in, she still managed to make it just as riveting as the first two books.
I'm so sad that it's over, but definitely a series I hope to revisit in the future! ...more

So we've finally come to the end.
I'd been trying to stave off the ending for as long as I could, but I guess no story lasts forever.
DOGAM, of course, was amazing. It was a beautiful conclusion to an epic trilogy. I remember how the first book, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, got me hooked, with its gritty premise (bones! teeth! exotic places like Morocco!), vivid characters and scenes (Brimstone the ram-headed resurrectionist! Razgut the foul, bloated fallen angel! the masquerade ball where Akiva ma ...more

I had read the first 2 books and when I got a chance I decided to try this one on audio. I would love to hear the first two read now. Khristine does a remarkable job and I loved the different inflection she gave to the characters. My favorite was Zuzana and I now can't hear her voice in any other way. :)
All your answers to any questions you have are solved in this book. There are even minor threads that have their conclusions. While for some this might feel like overkill, to me this was wonderfu ...more

An exciting ending to a beautifully written series. Laini Taylor's writing shines throughout. I want to write like her when I grow up. Suspenseful, frequently funny and often horrifying, you'll want to crawl into this story and stay for a long time. There are parts where the pacing drags, but it builds to a satisfying conclusion (unlike many other books I've read) and it's all worth it in the end. I highly recommend this book and the two that came before it.

Holy. Crap.
Laini Taylor is trying to kill me! This book was a roller coaster and while I'm happy with the end result I'm so sad that it's all over :( What a beautifully written trilogy. ...more
