I lent someone the second in this series because I was in the middle of about a dozen titles. She said that the second gets much darker. I have a copy back in my possession, so soon I will know.
I do appreciate that Stiefvater is able to mix realistic with fantastical in such an easy way.

I liked this but not as much as some of Stiefvater's other works. I had a hard time getting into it. Maybe it is all the hype around this book. I did like it, I just didn't love it. Pretentious boys and a girl who says she won't get involved and then does. Hmm...I'll continue with the series because it is so well loved but I don't think it will quite be one a month like I thought.
