3/1/21 - This wasn't as bad as I thought it would be listening to it on audio. I still don't like the romance in it, but otherwise, it wasn't too bad. I would give it a 3 this time.

2/23/21 - Lucky me, I get to read this again with my Book Club students. Oh well, can't be too bad. We are supposed to get to chapter 7 by 2/26, but I doubt I'll quite get there. Shelves: fantasy, young-adult

Read after seeing the movie, which might make this review biased. It was somewhat slow paced and without much action. Jacob could be a much more interesting character. Too many differences in the movie adaption, and not all for the best. Will continue to the next book.

Note: if you just saw the movie and want to continue the story, you will have to read the first book, there are enough differences to make me feel you can't go straight to book 2. ...more
