This is a 3.5 for me. This is a creepy and interesting book. What keeps this book from being a solid 4 is that I feel like the pictures distract from the story. I know that the story is built around them but the vintage, creepy pictures just pulled me out of the adventure I was trying to lose myself in. I really liked this book. It started as a reread because I got the sequels, and I couldn't remember the details of the first. Then, I watched to movie because my students said it was hard to follow without reading the book. (It's not.) Well, I thought I hadn't seen it, but I had.
