What Members Thought

This quasi post-apocalyptic series is not quite as clever as Hunger Games or Uglies or even Shattered, but it still holds my attention and for the intended YA audience I think it succeeds. I did want to slap Beatrice or pull her hair quite a few times because I think much of the conflict could have been avoided if she was more trusting but I guess that's one of the messages that Roth is sending to her readers and maybe that is a life-lesson to learn the hard way. It's certainly not one of my fav

This was a good sequel. It gave me more insight to some of the factions which I was eager to learn about. Tris also left behind some of her annoying qualities, but not all of them. After reading Divergent, I was not really looking forward to continuing the trilogy. I devoured the first book, up until the last few chapters, where it just...lost my interest. Hence my hesitation in continuing the series. But I am SO GLAD that I made myself read this book! I'm very pleased with the development of the storyline. The characters are still a little flat, a little chiche, but the story is moving along nicely. I can't wait to see what happens next!
