I really enjoyed this book. Easy to read and no bad language or romance. Haven't really decided if I'm a fan of the two main characters but the other characters have made it up for me. Definitely will continue to the next book.
For those interested in a book an alchemy look elsewhere. Even though the title might suggest otherwise it barely skims the surface and those looking to this book for that specific reason will be disappointed. ...more

This book is ok and by "okaaay" I mean that I'm sort of indifferent to it. I wasn't swept away in a tide of adolescent fantasy and, quite honestly, when I pick up a YA book about magic and mystical beasties that's sort of what I'm going for.
