As unfortunate as it is, I have finally gotten around to review Divergent the first book in the Divergent series. Now, here is the thing, I have already read every single book in this series including Four- A Divergent Collection. So why have I just now come around to writing a review? Well the answer lies within the anxiety I experienced with the ending to the series! I was just so ahh!! But I won't dwell very much into that. My plan of action is to try and get my review posts for this series u As unfortunate as it is, I have finally gotten around to review Divergent the first book in the Divergent series. Well the answer lies within the anxiety I experienced with the ending to the series! I was just so ahh!! But I won't dwell very much into that. My plan of action is to try and get my review posts for this series up over the next week and a half!

I found Divergent to be very enthralling, enticing, enjoyable, and another other great word that you can come up with that starts with the letter "E." In this new version of Chicago, the city is split up into sections: Erudite, Abnegation, Candor, Dauntless, and Amity. Now I have read many books that have a dystopian feel to it, but this one brings dystopian to a whole other universe.

The people in this city are split into each section or "faction" on a specific day. The weird thing is, is that those people take tests to figure out where the want to go or choose. Now this fascinated me, these people live by their faction. The faction they choose is their new family, the rest are left behind.

Beatrice Prior has just turned 16 years of age and it her choosing day along with her brother. Now, I quite enjoyed Beatrice, even though I have found that a lot of people have not. Beatrice is not strong willed nor is she really brave, but she holds this characteristic about her that is hard to ignore. She wants to draw you in and drive you up the fricken wall!! The one thing she is though, is determined.

Which is probably the reason why she chose her faction, besides the deep dark secret she harbors that means death. I enjoyed learning about every faction and what it means to be in one of those factions. I especially enjoyed Veronica's writing it was easy to understand, she left no details out, and it was elegant.

I found that the character's were very well written, which is the number one thing that I look for when I review. Each one had their own personality and back story. Especially Four, his deep dark secrets match up well with Tris. I also found him very attractive! Bring on the book boyfriend!!

I honestly would recommend this to any teenager, mother, and grandmother out there. This is a great book, it is refreshing, and it definitely gives you something think about. Along with rave about to your friends!! So go pick up the back...I would never force you into such a thing...but seriously go pick up the book!

I'M JUST SO HAPPY THAT I PURCHASED THIS BOOK AND ACTUALLY READ IT. Worth every penny!

What can I say? The book is GREAT. It was hard to put the book down. Thrilling, exciting and so, so, so good! Everything is here which makes it even more cool than other books!!!

I've seen the movie first (just recently) and then I decided to read the book. Oh, well. No wonder I felt like an idiot while watching the movie. I was like, "My! What is going on?"

So...this was just ok for me. I put off reading this because if didn't want to be swayed by all the hype. I finally gave in, and it is just as I had feared : just ok. Don't get me wrong, it was an interesting book. However, at this point with dystopian fiction- we have already seen it all. There is nothing new and surprising. Divergent is a furiously paced, deftly plotted story, bursting at the seams with exciting imagery and carrying a disturbingly dark overtone. Pick this book up if you want to be entertained.
