According to the Faction's Quiz I am equally Candor, Amity and Dauntlness! Yay for Divergency!!!!!! And I agree, those are definitely factions I fit well in; I'm blunt, LIke to be happy and I am pretty brave, though I'll never get a tactoo. I love Four! I love Four! Not as much as Adrian but I love Four!!!!!! I will always be surprised at how much I adore this book! Re-read it again yesterday, June 19th 2012 with the first copy i bought. Last time I read it, it was with a dusty, hardcover librar

I'm normally hesitant to pick up anything YA, since the genre and I don't always get along. However, seeing that the movie depiction is set to be released soon, I felt I had to read the book before seeing the movie. The plot looked interesting and the ratings were good, so I grabbed it. I'm glad I did! Tris was a very interesting character, and getting inside her head was a pleasure. It's refreshing to have such a strong-willed female character in a YA book, and Tris was definitely that! The rom

Okay, I finally got to read this book and see what all the fuss is about. I have to admit the fuss was pretty accurate. I really enjoyed this book and the almost 500 pages just flew by for me.
In the book Tris is who we follow in this adventure. I really did like Tris, but found her quite difficult and almost too stubborn at times. She was smart, but sometimes you just wanted to shake her to make sure some of those braincells were working. Granted she was in a completely new world and discovering ...more

I borderline HATED this book. The characters are flat and the description is almost non-existent. The author tells us what the main character is feeling but there is no explanation as to why. It was pretty much impossible to relate to or empathize with the main character at all. The only time the author seemed to bother with any description of HOW the character feels (versus simply TELLING US) was during the moments of her budding sexual attraction to one of the other characters.

Well, more like one and a half stars. I tend not to give out many fives, and even fewer ones, but this one came close to the latter. I know one star has the tooltip "I didn't like it," but personally I reserve one star, as the lowest rating available, for books I actively disliked or in fact hated rather than those for which I feel, at most, passive indifference. I didn't hate this book, I just found it completely unimaginative (and its setting unimaginable), illogical and inconsistent with an a

It was amazing, I didn't want to put it down and I can't wait to read the second one!
