This is about a girl who possesses the graceling of killing and is used by her uncle who is a king to carry out his wishes. She runs into another with the gracling of combat (she thinks) and they travel together to solve a mystery. I thought it was fairly well written and was a very interesting story. My only dislike was that I would have liked to have seen them married since I am just that kind of gal.

second reread- it is so weird which books hold up and which don't. this book seems to get better every time I read it.
On reread: it has been a very long time since I read this book and my main conclusion is that I love the characters so much more this time.
