I do not recommend reading this book directly after reading any books in the Poison Study series. I started this one immediately after Shadow Study, and in my humble opinion Valek is THE assassin, and everyone else just a pale shadow.

The writing was flawless in Throne of Glass, and the story went along at a very nice pace. There was just a perfect balance among the moments where we peered into the characters to see how they really were/felt, the competition challenges, the potential romance, and the mystery of what was going on in the castle.

First off the cover is fricken gorgeous. I mean look at her she is all bad-ass caring her swords with the long silver/white hair and this look about her that says she should not be messed with. Also the purple coloring and the design in the background is down right gorgeous as well.
