Full review on Stellar Kitten Book Reviews:
The writing was flawless in Throne of Glass, and the story went along at a very nice pace. There was just a perfect balance among the moments where we peered into the characters to see how they really were/felt, the competition challenges, the potential romance, and the mystery of what was going on in the castle.

2.5 stars. Closer to 2 than 3 though.
I actually enjoyed most of it, but found it derivative of other books. Generally, did not hate the MC (though could've done without the reminders that she's so beautiful...like we get it...she's pretty and boys like her), found Dorian bland, but I assume he'll be expanded upon in future novels, and the plot moved quickly. First off the cover is fricken gorgeous. I mean look at her she is all bad-ass caring her swords with the long silver/white hair and this look about her that says she should not be messed with. Also the purple coloring and the design in the background is down right gorgeous as well.
I honestly have no idea how I am going to write this review. Do I right it in a screeching manner or a blubbery mess manner. This book was that good, it created so many emotions in me that I just wanted to sit in a co ...more

It took me a little while to get into this book because I wasn't ready to read another Hunger Games/Red Queen book. But once I started reading I got sucked in. And I can't wait to read all of the rest of them. There is nothing really new in these books but I like the main characters and that's what matters to me.

Ugh, couldn't get past the first couple of chapters. It's very clear that this is Maas' writing before she matured as a writer , because the heroine is incredibly irritating and unaware of how irritating she is. I loved her most recent book -- so maybe the later ones in this series will be better, but I just could not get into this one. I kept hoping somebody would hit Celaena with a bat for being vapid and vain.
