Spin The Dawn is the first installment in a new YA Fantasy series. I was drawn immediately to its beautiful cover. The description mentions this title is being like Project Runway meets Mulan. I almost laughed at hearing that, it sounds like an unlikely combination to say the least. I was surprised, going in, how solidly realized and convincing the plot is. First read 9/2019 4 🌟

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I enjoy sewing and to have that in a fantasy book mixed with competitions to find the best tailor was great.

Maia is a girl. Girls are not to be sewing and making fabulous clothes. But Maia proved them wrong.

During a competition she finds herself fighting to stay in. But with magic on her side she's not sure if its real or could she not be the very best.

I don’t know... there was nothing obviously wrong with this book, but I was never seriously engaged and was bored by halfway through. I never really got a good sense for Edan or felt the romance. I will say that this was nothing like Sarah J. Maas — that is a gross misrepresentation.
