What Members Thought
This world is so mesmerizing. This is one of those books that you truly step into when you start reading. Just as the blurb says, you have to beware of getting swept too far away.
Garber really keeps her readers on their feet with this book. I kid you not, I was completely engrossed in this story. Garber's writing style is well suited to this kind of fast-paced and exciting story. I really love how easily I gravitated toward her words. The plot of this book is insane. I might have enjoyed this one more than the first. I felt like I had no idea what was happening in the first one. This one was easier to follow and some things were a little predictable. This one went into the characters so much more which I liked. But the only thing that I thought was strange was that Tella and Scarlet fought so hard to be together in the last book and this one they hardly saw each other, a little weird. I’ll definitely read the next one and excited to see where it goes.
Extreme flowery writing - colors that look like smells and other intangibles, etc. but if you don't mind that, this one is a little better than the last. I liked Tella's point of view more than Scarlet's for some reason. More of a 4.5 rounded up, but fun nevertheless. Loved the addition of the fates for this one and the little bit of mystery. Stopped on a cliff-hanger so what I thought would be a duology might be a trilogy?
