My heart is broken. I love August and Kate so much.
This book is dark and scary and heartbreaking in all the right ways. I personally liked it better than the first book. I think the pacing worked better, as there was less exposition getting in the way of the action, and I thought the character development was stronger. I felt far more connected to August and Kate, and so their story was more compelling and intense than the first novel.
