This was a reread of the second book in An Ember in the Ashes series and I loved it ALMOST as much as the first book. Still a 5 Star read. It still had plenty of feels and it crushed my heart over and over again and I loved every minute of it. Sabaa you are such an amazing writer! I cannot wait to continue on with this series! Beautiful, Tortured, Brave, Monstrous (literally and figuratively) characters aplenty.

Still really love the audiobooks for this series. Fantastic, definitely give them a try. I loved the book, although I wasn't the biggest fan of Helene and Hannah. I enjoyed that we got to see more magic playing into the story. Full review to come!

The action continues! This is the second book of An Ember in the Ashes, and it picks up right where the last one left off. As in the first, the story is told in the first-person, alternating between Laia, Elias, and Helene. There is a great deal of action, violence, and even romance. The characters are still on a mission to save Laia's brother, but there are many obstacles to accomplish that task and to save the entire empire!
