My Review
Typically, I am not the biggest fan of contemporaries unless the story is amazing. This is definitely one of those stories. It is different, yet realistic. I really loved the writing. There are a few charts and doodles inside as well that are very fitting. The story was so compelling that I finished this book in one sitting. I experienced so many feelings while reading this. Maddy has spent 17 years of her life inside of her house because of her rare disease. When Olly and his family move in next door, she wants to experience things that she has never experienced before. When she does, her mom wants Maddy to be reasonable. She wants to protect Maddy. Is she really?
This emotional roller coaster of a book has taken me on quite the ride. Yoon is one of the best things happening in YA fiction these days.
3.5 stars. I didn't see that twist coming.

I LOVED this book! It is up for the YARP (South Dakota YA) award this year. I teach seventh grade English and Reading. I made the YARP nominees extra credit if my students read any of the books off of this year's list. This has been a HUGE FAVORITE!!!! We can't keep it on the shelf in our school library! I can't wait to read more books by Nicola Yoon! :)

AMAZING!!!! Now I can't wait to see the movie with my daughter and my sister. I hope they hurry up and finish this book so we can see the movie while it's still in theaters ;) I loved the characters I could relate to almost all of them. I was so invested in the story line. I was rooting so hard for Olly and Maddy to make it.
