I don't know. I had high expectations because I had seen this book around and people talked a lot about it but I didn't really like it. I never really got into the story or felt attached to the characters. Rachel is one of the main characters and I felt like we really never got to know her and she was used more like a prop than a person. I didn't mind the fragmented and weird format but I also don't think it added anything to it. I think mostly I just didn't care that much about what happened to ...more

I didn't like the style. It broke the fourth wall a lot, and the characters weren't people I think I would like. Probably too realistic. I want my characters a bit more heroic. ...more

Perhaps it was the dry sense and crude humor that turned me off from this book, but it just was not my cup of tea. I don't see too many guys trying to make terrible movies, especially ones about someone dying from cancer. However, that being said it was a unique point of view, and it wasn't a tearjerker, sappy, book. It was more of a "this is cancer, yeah people die from it, but you gotta make the most of it" type book. Read if you like to laugh and enjoy dry humor. ...more
