I liked this book a lot and the only reason I didn't rate it higher was I had a harder time connecting to these characters. I did enjoy it and the story was just as good but I wasn't in love with the spoiled main character Eadlyn. I finally started liking her in the last chapter and now I cannot wait to read The Crown. It is still a book I would recommend to others and I still love the way Kiera Cass writes and weaves her tale, so I am looking forward to reading the last book in the Selection se

My favorites from the first Selection, America & Maxon are now ruling Illéa, and their daughter, Eadlyn is the future queen. Eadlyn is self-centered but she grew up knowing that she would be the future queen so she had to be strong and look out for herself because she will be the first girl to inherit the throne. Set twenty years after the events in the first Selection series, The Heir finds America's and Maxon's daughter Eadlyn maneuvering her own Selection of young men. Some parts of the book dragged, but other parts and characters were genuinely charming. It was also nice to see the "after" of a "happily ever after" couple (and yes, still very much in love). OH MY GOSH!!! I thought this was like #4 out of #3, this is really like #1 of a similar series. UGH, now I have to WAIT for the others to come out??? Are you fricking kidding me. I don't wait. Stupid dumb trilogy add ons being new series in and of themselves.
