Let me just say that I did not like all the varying storylines. I love certain characters, like Chaol and Celaena and do not like to have so much time away from them. I hated all the time dedicated to the witch clans. I just couldn't care about them. I know it will be important for the future, but it sure was a lot of new character development at the expense of the oldies. I didn't get nearly enough Chaol in this book, but I think that may be rectified in the next book. I loved the ending of thi

As this series goes along, it's growing. Some of it is growing pains, as Celaena changes from her annoying teenager self to not-quite-so-annoying queenly self. However, the change in scope of the story and how it expands with each new book is exciting. I really enjoy the shift to a more epic narrative, especially as the new characters introduced are some of the most compelling and complex. I'm glad to get more breathing time from Celaena, as the time spent away lends more excitement to her narra
