Finished Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi a few hours before my duty started. And I have to say it's one of those books that I could not put down. I enjoyed reading every bit of it. I loved the characters. I loved the way it was written. I simply loved everything about it. Anyway, the main characters of the story are Juliette and Adam.

What I said before reading this: Idk about this...
If it wasn't that one of the groups I'm in is gonna read it I don't think I would have put it to my to-read list..
Even now I'm thinking about not reading it..
I suppose it wont hurt to try...
After reading it:
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! That was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!. At about 85-90% I literally started jumping with excitement & I couldn't stop this giant grin for the rest of the book.
The writing is different from usual. I really really enjoyed it ...more

So for my first read of 2012 and one of Book Boyfriends February group reads Shatter Me was the winner. I hadn't planned on reading it but I would have missed out dearly. Love, danger, adventure, an evil and hot psycho, a disappearing boy and a deadly touch are all covered in this release by Tahereh Mafi.
I loved the writing which included partial and full sentences that were repeated or parts crossed out showing what our heroine Juliette was feeling and wished she could say. Some may not have en ...more

So I am sitting here thinking to myself realizing that Shatter Me really is just pretending to be is a dystopian novel.
Oh my goodness. I really don't understand how Mafi was able to disguise a supernatural book as a dystopian. This just doesn't work. I mean yes okay fine, the world is in shambles. There is a re-establishment that is actually evil, everyone is suffering, the world is dying etc etc etc. But Juliette and her "abilities"? YEAH RIGHT! Where does this even fit into this novel?

Well, this isn't that bad. The main protagonist, Juliette, isn't really much of a Mary Sue but isn't really much of a convenient heroine either. The most annoying thing about her is her constant blushing despite the least of events. Adam, the love interest, doesn't hold much of my attention. He got no personality and didn't make much of an impression. Unfortunately, the only character that I found with more depth is Warner, who despite of being a crazy psycho, still remains to be a somewhat comp

Oh. My. God. I can't believe I've finished this book ALIVE. I had to stop every chapter because I could hardly breathe. Literally. Shatter Me is freaking A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Never in my entire life affected me that much. And by reading a book! A book? God, it was phenomenal, epic, touching and moving. It was so addictive I want more of it. I LOVED it so much! If you're into dystopian novel with oozing romance, this book is for you! Highly recommended! Read it for yourself.

Without being one of the oddball spoil-sport, I'm afraid I have to say that Shatter Me is just not for me. The premise is great, but there are pieces and formatting of this story that I just can't pass.
