Bună dragilor! Am revenit astăzi cu o nouă recenzie a unei cărți pe care abia am terminat-o și care m-a impresionat enorm de mult, încât nu puteam să nu vă vorbesc despre ea. Nu cred că această serie mai are nevoie de vreo introducere, cu siguranță ați auzit despre serialul de pe HBO dacă nu știați despre cărți. Am avut nevoie de multă autoconvingere pentru a mă apuca de aceste cărți (volumul pe care l-am primit este împărțit în două părți) ...more

Shelves: fantasy, great-reads

Dacă ești fan Game of Thrones, să recitești cartea asta e cea mai dureroasă experiență minunată. Pe de-o parte, te întorci în ținuturile și la personajele pe care le-ai iubit. Pe de altă parte, știi ce destin le așteaptă și nu poți decât să asiști neputincios la toate deciziile care le pecetluiesc soarta. Doare ca naiba și e absolut minunat.

I have finally read A Game of Thrones. I loved it! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I also got myself the audio with it AND I even watched the first season of the HBO show based on the book. I am thrilled to finally post my review of it.

The first book is all about the development of the main kingdoms. The Stark family is the primary focus. Lady Stark (Catelyn), King Stark, and the siblings, along with the bastard son conceived in an illegitimate affair, Jon Snow - who is one of my favor I have finally read A Game of Thrones. I loved it! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I also got myself the audio with it AND I even watched the first season of the HBO show based on the book. I am thrilled to finally post my review of it.

The first book is all about the development of the main kingdoms. The Stark family is the primary focus. Lady Stark (Catelyn), King Stark, and the siblings, along with the bastard son conceived in an illegitimate affair, Jon Snow - who is one of my favorite characters at first.

This book is all about the characters, more than it is about the themes, and maybe the rest will be as well. I began to have ambiguous feelings about Lady Stark at first, thinking she is more of a hard because she has no compassion toward her illegitimate son, Jon, but later towards the book she is a noble, loyal, and supremely strong Queen and mother. I end up admiring her towards the end of the novel.

Daenerys is one of my favorite characters through the book. I looked forward to the chapters that involved her transformation from sister slave, to Dothraki Queen - Khalessi. Alone, she wins the heart of her warrior, and later owns her place and territory as a female leader. I was rooting for her the whole time, as cheesy as that may sound.

Arya is another one of my favorite characters because she's the unexpected survivor. She is also unconventional. While other girls like to dress up and look forward to becoming princesses she knows how to shoot a bow very well and love to learn sword fighting. I also enjoyed Arya's character because she's the only one who has a true bond with Jon.

Bran is a character I'd like to see develop more throughout the rest of the books. Even though his accident sort of casts him out of the most of the first book, I think he'll play a pivotal role later on, just a gut instinct.

Este o serie pe care o incepi greu. Cel putin, asa a fost in cazul meu. Mi-am gasit cu greu curajul sa imi doresc sa o incep. Toate acele volume stufoase te sperie, dar in momentul in care te avanti in poveste si incepi primele pagini, nu te mai poti opri. Este greu pana retii personajele si casele din care fac parte, avand in vedere ca vin in numar mare. La finalul volumului aveti o anexa, in care sunt prezentate toate si cred ca ar trebui sa incepeti cu aceasta. E greu pana citesti primul volu ...more
