This is a reread for me, and that makes it even more difficult to review. How can I pass judgement on The Shattered Gates (TSG), when it is but one small piece of a bigger puzzle?
I will just say this: TSG contains a lot of information that foreshadows what is to come. It sets the mood for a very dark and dangerous world that is parallel, yet different from our own. An interesting starting point.
This one feels like the start to an absolute epic!
It's a bit tough to rate on its own since after finishing it there are still so many details missing and the real story hasn't even really started as far as I can see. But bloody hell does this book have the potential to absolutely blow my mind!!

This is the first installment in a serial of ten, so the action is still picking up at the end of #1: there is no way I can tell you if I like storyline or not (but seeing as how it's Ginn Hale, you know you're in good hands).
