THE WATCHER is perfect for readers who loved the forbidden and seemingly impossible romance of the Twilight series; the kick-ass, scary fight scenes between angels and demons in Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter series; and the hot fallen angels of Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush series.
Lisa Voisin has created an uplifting take of redemption, love and spirituality that proves there's hope for the human race. Never preachy, THE WATCHER is the perfect answer to critics who claim Young Adult lit is to ...more

I absolutely love this book! I liked everything about it, from the cover to the characters in the book. The Watcher has definitely something for everyone. There is mystery, romance, and godlike angels that will leave you wanting for more. The story starts off with Mia finding an unconscious body, frozen with terror she doesn't know what to do as soon as she seeing shadows. Right from the start I was able to see somethin ...more

"He tilted his chin to look up at me through his long, dark lashes and there was something so intense, so intimate, about his gaze that my breath froze in my chest."
Mia is the narrator of The Watcher by Lisa Voisin, an involved, engrossing and unique YA paranormal novel. The guy she is referring to in the quote is Michael Fontaine. I finished the book a short time ago but my heart is still on the pages with this unforgettable couple.

I know I'm late to the party (let's be honest, that's nothing new) but I LOVE the angel themes that have taken ahold of the young adult genre. If you love them too, The Watcher is one you won't want to miss! A perfect balance of paranormal occurences and public high school dramatics, The Watcher is a story I think every young adult book lover will devour with abandon.

The Watcher is a well written YA tale of eternal love, redemption and impossible romances. 17 yr old student, Mia Crawford is your typical HS senior until a trip to the park changes everything. The story features a love triangle, lots of tension, emotion, suspense, a rich history, and strong characterizations. While I think the main theme of the story has been done before, the author gives the tale enough twists and turns to keep the reader from feeling they have seen this all before -- just wit

I loved this book! If you're a fan of Romance, than you must read The Watcher- it's bursting with it!
Mia was a great narrator and a very relatable heroine. I really enjoyed experiencing the story through her point of view.
Michael...well I fell pretty hard for this man. He has an angelic, masculine beauty about him, that appealed to both Mia and I haha. Although I should admit that I was frustrated with him through a good portion of The Watcher. I understand why he remained mysterious and distanc ...more

I really enjoyed reading The Watcher. Mia's life drastically changes when, not one, but two new boys enroll in her school. Michael and Damiel. Michael will do anything to protect her, while Damiel would do anything to make sure Michael and Mia's history doesn't repeat itself. Through Mia's POV, we watch as the story unravels, what happened thousand of years ago.
The relationship between Michael and Mia made me sigh throughout the book. It was that sighworthy. Beautiful. Damiel on the other side, ...more

Instead of saying more, he brushed his fingertips along my cheek, and his halo glimmered. I could hear the waves slapping the rocks behind us, the wind driving them in. That same wind whipped against my skin, but the touch of his hand on my face was all I could think about. It sent a current through both of us and filled me with longing for something I wasn’t sure I understood.

More than just a teen paranormal love triangle -- although it's also that, and enticingly so -- The Watcher is an exploration of what sin and redemption really mean. Voisin uses her dialogue well to touch on subjects that might seem overpowering in prose.
The pacing of this story is excellent. A bit of a trigger warning in places, because evil is as evil does, and here we have a demon hunting a girl who is protected by an angel. Good amount of heat as it relates to its target audience -- that tim ...more
