È il primo libro di Murakami che leggo, e anche il primo libro giapponese. A un primo sguardo sembra un tipico romanzo occidentale, tra Il grande Gatsby, Beatles e rivolte studentesche. Eppure tra una canzone e l'altra, tra futon, bentō e fiori di ciliegio, si viene assaliti da un'atmosfera malinconica molto particolare.

This is supposedly the novel that made "Haruki Murakami " famous . .
Where do i begin? .... i assumed this book had a slow start but turns out that's how the entire story goes until the very end , There is no real story to be told , and the plot is boring and barely existing.
The characters don't spark any interest either , we have:
"Toru" a student who can't decide anything so instead he wallows in his self pity
"Naoko" a depressed girl who has no experience with the real world & her roommate "Rei ...more

vevo grandi aspettative per questo libro, forse persino troppo elevate, e si è visto.
Quello che mi ha dati più fastidio è questa sfiga (perchè alla fine, diciamocelo, è proprio sfiga) che accompagna il protagonista, per cui la metà delle persone che incontra si suicida.
E questo ci potrebbe anche stare, per il genere di libro che è, se non che alla fine, leggendo anche le note e i ringraziamenti dell'autore, si scopre che questo è nato come un libro leggero.

Mi sento in dovete di spendere due parole su questo libro che mi ha tenuto occupata per due giorni, facendomi accantonare i Carmina di Catullo da studiare. E non mi pento.
Prima di tutto è intendo, come ogni libro di Murakami, d'altra parte. Sapete, non ho molta simpatia per i casi letterar, ma questo-ammesso che lo sia - è un'eccezione. La peculiarità sta nella maestria di soppesare ogni singola parola senza darlo a vedere, rendendo la lettura non solo veloce ma anche appassionante. In certi pun ...more
