Lettura impegnativa, sia per la lunghezza che per i continui salti temporali, ma anche terribilmente affascinante. La storia di questo segreto, che cavalca i decenni e che ossessiona, in modi diversi, tre donne, è intrigante e profondamente triste allo stesso tempo; l'autrice è molto brava nello svelare il mistero piano piano, attraverso le pagine, e alla fine ti ritrovi con la sensazione che avevi tutto davanti agli occhi fin dall'inizio, senza accorgertene. ...more

“il giardino dei segreti” di Kate Morton è un libro complesso e non si può che rimanere colpiti ed essere avvolti completamente dal suo mistero.
La trama si articola attraverso vari periodi storici e diversi punti di vista.
Si parte dal 1913, quando il capitano del porto Hugh incontra una bambina abbandonata a se stessa e si conclude nel 2005.

This was a beautifully written story that reminded me alot of the old Victorian Melodramas, there were a lot of missed opportunities, a lot of sadness and yet when I finished reading this book I felt there was definitely some brightness in this story.

I would not have missed meeting the characters in this book for anything! From the creepy Uncle Lucas, his completely evil wife to the dreamy, but naive Nathaniel, his totally spoiled and selfish wife Ruth and especially the Authoress and the strong ...more
