Il romanzo si svolge in brevi quadri, efficaci e teatrali. La scrittura cerca con tutta se stessa (è già il peccato maggiore della narrativa dell'autore) la nota poetica, magica o patetica. Spesso ci riesce e un po' ci caschi, poi il fumo si dissolve e ti dispiace per questo talento votato un po' al kitsch.
