What Members Thought
A remarkable collection of short stories. I found "When Mr. Pirzada came to dine" and "The third and final continent" particularly powerful (the latest really hit close to home, especially since I also live in a country that is not my homeland - even if I moved under much more privileged circumstances).
The only short story I really did not like was "The treatment of Bibi Haldar" - it could have been excluded from the collection to be honest.
Absolutely recommended.

I temi della condizione femminile, la fatica dell'integrazione, la patria lontana, sullo sfondo di piccoli quadri intimisti e familiari. Insomma l'autrice utilizza materiali autobiografici di grande attualità, e l'esordio le vale il Pulitzer. Ok non stiamo parlando di Jennifer Egan, però i racconti sono carini e ben scritti.
