Holy crap, this was good. So many plot surprises, along with solid characters and beautiful writing. And the ending!! Definitely lived up to the hype.

Wowza! What a fantastic book. I was vacillating about whether to give this a 4 or 5 as I entered the final chapters. But the ending...oh my such a great ending...makes this book a 5. Celeste Ng has incredible insight into the soul, and we can all learn from the strengths and flaws of the characters. We can especially learn not to be so judgmental toward those with different backgrounds and those who make different choices than we would.

If the art aspect had been woven throughout, instead of ...more
