I found this sequel to Inkheart to be almost as good as its predecessor. The magic and amazing characters are still there along with a whole batch of new ones. Ms. Funke has a knack for creating very vivid and memorable characters and her world building skills are amongst some of the best. I also like the way that she has put limitations and consequences to the magical elements of her story.
