Some of my students have selected this book for reports and presentations over the years . Just to be clear, they are non-native speakers of English. Sometimes they select the book because it is short. I don't think they realize how intense it is , until they get into it, but few have ever regretted choosing it. Poetical prose. The mistakes are ones of a young who is not able to focus her genius, and very forgivable. The intent comes through, and the afterword is something you should not miss. You really should take a few hours rest between it and the last sentence of the novel, but if you're likely to forget to come back to it, by all means plow-through.
