I checked this book out on an impulse, which is funny because she has another book called Impulse that I didn't check out because it's about self-harming, which I understand is a very real problem but I can't stomach reading about. The story is about a young Mormon girl (17), struggling with her alcoholic and abusive father, her indolent, uncaring mother, and a passel of younger girl siblings.
