It gave me nightmares last night. It made me feel physically bad at pages, at times it sent shivers down my spine, it made me really think about the limits of both physical and mental pain a person can endure and not get beaten down and crushed. This was the most spectacular and eyeopening book that I have read all year. Mr. Hosseini does a wonderful way of narrating from the perspective of two different women that grew up separately but are joined together in odd circumstances. This book was painstakingly difficult to read at times, it was so difficult for me as a young woman to see how women are treated in the middle east. I do think that this book should be required to be read...it's so painstakingly true that more people should know
