I have to say...really thought I was going to dislike this book! These people are crazy. Heathcliff...although somewhat justified in his hate was totally wretched! He loved and loved much! I felt for him from the first, he was mistreated and unloved...until, until Catherine! She was a treat...and society ruined her in my opinion...but these were different times and different things were expected..marrying in status and all that garbage. This is my second time reading Wuthering Heights, the first time being when I was a senior in college. I appreciate this book a lot more the second time around, and while I still prefer Jane Eyre to date, I definitely consider Wuthering Heights to be deserving of its praise. It is a very well-written book with an intricate plot. Emily Bronte was most definitely a genius.
