What Members Thought

I think Tolkien does a great job sharing time with his readers. How long travel takes. And, even more important, story differences with different groups. Our party is broken into 3 parts for this book and I never once felt confused as to how the periods of time overlapped.
I am still not a huge fan of all the poetry and ballads throughout the story. Although I liked the Ents the best. Oh, how fun they were to learn about!

I picked up The Two Towers immediately after finishing The Fellowship of the Ring, eager to see how Frodo's journey to destroy the ring would continue. The story picks up immediately after the events of the first book, with the group at a crossroads.
