Interesting storyline rendered slightly ridiculous by some offensive language and ridiculous sexual innuendo. It seemed like she was trying so hard to make the story more "adult". The attempts were awkward and silly, detracting from storytelling. I like her other books much more, they were so different. Won't read anything else in this series.

A very interesting book.
Rupert is a magid. This basically means that he uses magic to help situations along on Earth and other worlds.
Rupert'a mentor dies and he is faces with the task of finding another magid to replace his mentor, Stan. At the same time civil war has broken out on another world. The emperor has been assassinates and he must help find the hidden heir.
Everything becomes related. Fun reading and keeping up with the plot twist and turns. ...more
