So far, I am finding the story flat and lacking. We shall see if it improves.
Update: It is growing more interesting now that I am nearing the end, but I was disappointed that the author didn't add much to the story between when Darcy and Elizabeth part ways after the failed proposal and their meeting at Pemberly. A man's life would have been vastly more interesting than a lady's in that day. Perhaps if she had added some more details about Darcy, developed his character more. On the other hand, ...more

The first Jane Austen "fanfic" or "alternate version" book I read. I remember I enjoyed it.

Almost an exact retelling of Pride and Prejudice with one exception. It's told from Mr. Darcy's point of view. Many passages and dialogues are quoted directly from the original. It was enjoyable, but I didn't feel like I learned anything new.

Difficult to suspend your disbelief at first, but part way into it I caught myself saying, "Oh, that's why he acted that way." A fun new twist on Pride and Prejudice.

Nothing wrong with the book. Couldn't finish. No insights into the story. Just felt like I was reading Pride & Prejudice again. I could read Jane Austen for that.

I have to say that this is probably the best Pride and Prejudice spin-off I've read.
