Georgette Heyer's mystery novels were recommended to me by a group of D.E. Stevenson fans who have a yahoo group to discuss her novels and good fiction in general.
I was excited to discover a new author who wrote around the same time (20's-50's) as Stevenson but I have to say I was a bit disappointed in Heyer's writing style. I haven't read one of Georgette Heyers' mystery novels and to I decided to try one out. There were parts that got a little slow (mostly having to do with the French artist), but for the most part I liked it. I did figure out who the Monk was and why he was haunting the priory, but it was still interesting enough to hold my interest.

Celia, the fearful wife, proved most annoying this time around. I guessed the i.d. of the Monk.
