This song is playing through my head as I finished the final scene of this book. I don't think I can accurately put into words the feelings I have for those final pages of this book. Just - Cassandra Clare poured her heart and soul into this book and it paid off in some fantastic ways.

This book is the culmination of every other Shadowhunter book to this point. The story packs some heavy punches that you won't see coming - that you won't even think to expect to come your way. So many times I was surprised - whether good, bad, or just crazy - but each time I had to smile. It's so rare that I can't wrangle all a book's secrets out of it, and the twists and turns just propelled me forward.

There are nods to the past - both those beloved characters and stories we've already received and foreshadowing into what we will see in the upcoming series. I always appreciate how CC ties the threads of this world together in such a beautiful and chaotic way.

There was definitely shock on my part at just how much I was drawn to characters who played a minimal part in Lady Midnight. Livvy, Ty, and Kit were just such a dynamic group - they had me laughing so hard in the middle of the night. And CC's handling of autism was so realistic and poignant, that I was in tears. Tears, because SO MANY PEOPLE will come to understand my son just a little bit better by reading this book. And because someone was so fairly and beautifully represented in teen literature.

The characters were wonderful, old and new. The story was intricately woven. The suspense and momentum of the plot was perfect, never lagging. The message was shockingly something we need in this time of history. And the Blackthorns, with all their crazy friends that were so much more than just friends, were the purest and truest form of family and love. This love burned brighter than any romantic love has in all the books.

Did I really just read 720 pages in a day? Why yes, I did. And it was worth every single moment. ...more

WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL JUST HAPPENED?! That ending was disastrous, gobsmacking, horrendous, everything evil in this world. I am utterly shattered.

I honestly don't even know what to say?

How does one person destroy everything that quick and easily?

What the actual fudge cake.

I'm pissed and super saddened. The plan was perfection (Can I just say morally grey daddy Julian is literally the best thing? That man gives zero fxcks about anyone but his circle and I love to see it)
