I have mixed feelings about this book. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I haven't read The Mortal Instruments series before. The plot and the characters felt too familiar and predictable for me to be truly engaged in the story.
Will is basically a carbon copy of Jace. I have a little problem with that, because I don't want Cassie Clare to announce in City of Heavenly Fire that Jace is Will reincarnated.

The setting, Victorian London, is one of my favourite things to read about. The story is imaginative, the writing witty, and I love the fact that each chapter begins with a bit of classic Victorian poetry :). I suggest this to anyone who is a fan of paranormal romance.

Will reminds me so much of Jace that sometimes I had to remind myself that I was in a different time period with different characters. I got hooked the first chapter and was very surprised with the way things ended. I can't
